MY THOUGHTS
Dark Magick is an awesome book. It's the fouth book in the Sweep series by Cate Tiernan. Right now there are currently 14 books in the series. The main character of the series is a young girl named Morgan. Within the first three books of the series we discover, along with Morgan that the family she believed to be hers, isn't really hers. She is adopted. She then finds out that she is a blood witch.
Prior to finding out she is a blood witch she and her friends were 'playing around' with magicks and covens and such. She then learns, through casting circles, that her power is is much stronger then the power of her other friends.
I've read the first three books in the series. And just like this one, they rock. This series of books is extremely well written. As I repeatedly say there are 14 books in the series, and more to come. I dare you to read these books and not enjoy them! Cate Tiernan has a definate talent for writing books for teens. SWEEP is a definate must read series.
EXCERPT
He shrugged, his broad shoulders moving inside his army surplus parka. He gave a short laugh. "She let me kiss her. It blew my mind. She just laughed and seemed into it, and I thought, All right. And then I came up for air and said that I loved her." He stopped.
"And?" I practically screeched.
"She wasn't into that. Dropped me like a stone. Practically pushed me out the door." He rubbed his forehead, as if he had a headache.Silently I offered him my soda, and he finished it off and wiped his mouth with the back of his hand.
"Hmm," I said. I didn't trust Bree anymore. Before she might have done the same thing to Robbie, but now I couldn't help wondering how her involvement in Kithic had affected her actions.
