Weekend Getaway

The four of them were relatively silent during the drive to the hotel. Sherine had rolled down her window slightly to occasionally flick the ashes from her cigarette out into the wind. Alex sat behind her staring out the window, looking at the beautiful houses, occasionally looking over and smiling at Steve, who sat behind Kim. Steve slowly inched his hand towards Alex's, that sat resting on the section of the back seat left between the two of them. Still looking out the window Alex smiled when he felt Steve touch his hand. Alex moved his hand towards Steve's slowly advancing hand and the two hands locked in an embrace of their own. Alex slowly began to rub his thumb along Steves fingers. Kim glanced up into the rearview mirror and using the angle of the mirror, took occasional glances at both Alex and Steve. Finally seeing both of them happy made her smile. "Girl, watch the road not the boys." Sherine scolded her, adding a not so gentle smack to go along with it. At the same time Steve looked at Alex, and Alex at Steve. They both smiled and blushed. Kim rolled her eyes and began to slow down as they got closer to the red light ahead.

The last five minutes of the car ride to the hotel, where Steve and Alex would be staying, was silent. Sherine had thrown her cigarette out the window, Steve and Alex kept their hands to themselves, and Kim kept her focus on the road. Kim pulled into the large hotel parking lot and found a parking spot close to the lobby entrance. "You guys go check in and then come back for youre stuff. Sherine and I will take it out of the trunk for you." Kim emphasized the fact that Sherine was going to help; whether she liked it or not. Sherine gave a low growl and turned to the boys smiling. "Of course I'll help." She said through clenched teeth. Alex tried very hard not to laugh, so he looked away from her expression and put his hand on the handle. Steve looked over at him and they smiled. Both Alex and Steve leaned in and kissed quickly before getting out of the car. The car doors shut one after another as they got out of the black Sunfire and headed for the Lobby entrance.

Kim sat in the car for a moment and stared at her two friends as they walked into the large hotel, Alex holding the door for Steve and then vice versa through the second set of doors. "They are so in Love." She stated bluntly. "Yup, they are. Can we get the bellboy work over with now?" Sherine tried to hide the fact that she really did care and that she was happy for Alex for finding Steve, by using the fact that she was annoyed with Kim for volunteering her to play bellboy for the lovebirds. Kim nodded and popped the trunk. Both girls got out of the car and shut their doors. Sherine raised the black trunk to find the four backpacks they had brought. She grabbed Alexs blue backpack and tried to lift Steves at the same time, but couldnt. "Holy shit these boys dont pack light." She said putting Alexs bag down next to the wheel as Kim did the same with Steves black backpack. "Sherine, theyre gay. When they pack, they pack like girls. Bring anything and everything you might possibly need." She shut the trunk and smiled. Sherine gave her a dirty look, but it quickly faded and she laughed at one of Kims jokes for the first time ever. She playfully smacked Kim's arm and wiped a small tear from her eye.

Sherine saw Alex and Steve coming out of the hotel doors and quickly regained her composure. She had an image to uphold; Bitch wasnt as easy to play as it looked. When Alex and Steve returned to the car Sherine was back in bitch mode, her smile looked fake and she had another cigarette lit. "Were in room 369," Alex announced as he picked up his backpack. "Kinky." Was all Sherine had to say. Everyone except for Sherine seemed to find it funnier than it had been meant to be. She just rolled her eyes once again and gave Alex a hug. "You be a good boy this weekend ok? I'll see you Sunday." She smiled and shook Steve's hand, pulling him into a hug. "You treat my boy good okay? Otherwise I break your face. Got it?" She whispered the threat in his ear so it went unheard to Alex and Kim, who were saying their good-byes. After Sherine's version of a friendly good-bye to Steve, he moved on to say good-bye to Kim. "Watch out for her in the car. She creeps me out." They both laughed. Both Alex and Sherine looked over at them and Alex smiled. Sherine on the other hand, just looked annoyed. She got into the passenger seat and honked the horn twice, telling Kim to hurry up. Kim gave both Alex and Steve a small kiss and wished them a good weekend before getting into the drivers seat. Alex and Steve stood in the parking lot and watched Kim drive away. Alex could see the two of them fighting as they drove away. Sherine was smacking Kim while Kim tried to defend herself with her one arm, and trying to stop Sherine from changing the radio station at once. Kim gave up and let her change the station to avoid an accident.

Alex looked over at Steve, who was also smiling and staring at the black Sunfire until it disappeared around the corner. "So what do you want to do tonight?" Steve asked, looking at Alex. "I dont know. It's your city, what is there to do?" "It's a town, and there is nothing to do." Steve picked up his backpack and threw it over his shoulder. He turned to walk towards the entrance again. "I guess well just have to come up with our own fun then." Alex suggested as he followed Steve back into the hotel.

There's just one more paragraph left of this story to add. I got busy and started on another story, called Reckless Angel. I think I'll get that on the computer and then onto this site sometime soon. So keep checking back every so often!
